How do you figure the illusion hench is better than the dom hench when it comes to interrupting? The only interrupt is Power Leech (Clumsiness doesn't interrupt spells anymore). When I discovered the illusion hench carried the touch range Hex Eater Signet, I only take him when I have absolutely no choice for an 8th hench.
Touch range skills should not belong on squishy henchmen (healing touch, hex eater sig, restore life). They simply don't have the AI to use them effectively, since they refuse to kite until they get down to 10% health (saddly, I've seen the warrior hench kite better than any other hench while low on health).
The resurrection AI is worse after the recent update. Even when there's no fighting going on, they will rush to use their res sigs, rather than wait for the healers to use their hard res. Its harder than ever to get henchmen to run from a hopeless battle, since they're busy using res sig on those that have already fallen. It would have been nice if they had, you know, fixed the over aggressive monk hench who likes to grab agro just to touch res someone a screen away (or maybe they did by having the others beat them to the punch with their obsessive res sig wasting).

I much, much prefer the new AI to the old one. Res sigs are easy enough to recharge with all the bosses that are in most areas. Before, the henchmen might as well not had them because they would only use them when all monks are dead which is way too late 95% of the time. FWIW, I have seen them hold off on using the res sig to let the healer henchman use a hard res spell instead, so there is AI in there for it, it just doesn't detect the situation properly all the time (which is understandable). Overall I think the update is great, especially when you think back to updates like the AoE fear one that required two tries to get playable and still has no shortage of issues. It's almost like Arenanet hired an AI programmer...

i actually like that Talon has Charge on his skill list. But i agree, that he could have a better elite skill.
BTW, is Talon male or female ?

I don't think he's actually using illusion magic, it's just a name. Like 'vile hench' for the necro.
EDIT: took him out for a spin, and it turns out he does use illusion spells, but he's also using inspiration to interrupt. His elite is Power leech, and he's also got Clumsiness and I'm pretty sure he's got Cry of Frustration (since he can interrupt non-spell skills).

I think they all have to follow some sort of theme.
Lukas is a "Guardian" Henchman.
He guards people with protectors defense, shields up.. He prevents enemies from reaching the ones he "guards" with hamstring and then he power attacks them a little.
He has dragon slash though so it's kind of ok.
If ANet is trying to make henchies worse than players then ANet isn't doing a good job at it.
I henched my way through factions completely (I did it again X.x) and was pretty unstoppable.
On my monk I just gave them the target and typed /dance
Henchies easily butcher any mob you face. It's quite boring actually.

Lukas at least has Shields up, which compliments my Watch yourself! nicely.
And They aren't ALL bad..

sexy.

Erys Vasburg is awesome. He is way better than the luxon ranger interupter. Erys is really giving a good name to mesmers, unlike distortion spamming Duncan . The illusion hench is also great too

I don't think so. I'm pretty sure he has no domination spells insight. Clumsiness interupts attacks and attack skills, so it may have been that. Now I think about it though, he may have a leech signet in his build somewhere.

I have to agree with an earlier statement that Sister Tai and Jamei think they're tanks. Many times they've rushed out in front to heal me and just stand there getting beat down by mobs.

Why did you think they called it a multiplayer game?
Is it for all of you PvE'ers just to play solo with henchmen, oh please!
i'm tired of people complaining about henchmen, get a guild, get friends, get other people.
Henchmen should be a supplyment if there isnt enough players, they shouldn't be an alternative.

Why?
I prefer playing with henches, because then I can play in my own pace, and don't have to run every mission as quickly as possible. I do occasionally play with guildies, but if I couldn't play with henches I wouldn't play at all.
